Visual Neuroscience

A Message from the Developer

Fadil Karim

Thank you for downloading Visual Neuroscience.

My intention is for the brain atlases in this app to be used by the next generation of Neuroscientists and Psychologists to understand the brain and its networks so that they are better equipped to solve problems associated to the brain such as brain damage, drug addiction, and mental health problems such as schizophrenia, multiple sclerosis, depression & anxiety and many more.

I chose to study at King’s because I wanted to learn the map of the brain, but, while studying, I found that nobody has built a human brain atlas that is easy to use and understand so I started building my own with Python while studying. This was before the AI era. All these years later, I used AI to help me to complete the atlas while working in my current career in Structural Engineering.

I built everything you see here with knowledge from my post-grad in Applied Neuroscience from King’s College London Online and my experience in software development.

At the moment, this app and its atlases are completely free and I intend to keep it as free as possible for as long as possible while I continue to build it so please support this app in whichever way you can by using it and sharing it with anyone who may find it useful.

If you would like any features added or improved, anything at all eg. a question bank built to your syllabus, a missing atlas, a dataset overlay, one of your own published studies visualised on the scan, write to me, and it usually ships within the week. The pages make factual claims and cite their sources, but if any of them are wrong, let me know and I will correct it.

Write to fkarim@visualneuroscience.ai and I read it myself.
