Network Atlas
Each region with a parcel as its surface in its ring colour, carried as far as its emphasis on the scan; the three without one as a sphere at their published coordinate; the couplings as tubes between them; the brain around them.
Six brain states — flow, rest, focused attention, threat, reward pursuit and meditation — each drawn as a ring of fourteen regions in seven networks, with the couplings that strengthen in that state as coloured threads and the ones that fall quiet as grey dashes. Pick a state and every region that has a parcel in the atlas lights up on the scan in its ring colour; press a region or a whole network on the ring and the planes centre on it.
Every region with a parcel in the atlas lights up on the scan in its ring colour. Press a region on the ring — the small one in the box, or the full one the bar’s Network opens — and it comes forward on the scan with the regions it couples to held at half strength, or press a network’s name in the full ring for all of it. Move the crosshair on the scan and the ring follows it back.
The couplings are composites read off the imaging literature, not measured connectomes, and each state names its sources beneath the ring. Regions keep their place and colour in every state, so switching states moves the threads and nothing else. Three of the fourteen regions have no parcel in AAL-116 and wear a dashed arc: picking one parks the crosshair at a published coordinate instead.
