Delete your account
in the app, on the web, or by emailDeleting removes the account at once: your sign-in, your profile, your username, your saved models and your practice progress. Nothing of them is kept, and there is no undo. If you signed in with Apple, the Sign in with Apple authorisation is revoked as the account goes, so the app leaves the list on your Apple ID too. It takes two presses and a moment, wherever you are.
This page is a translation of the English one, which is the governing text: where the two differ, the English stands.
In the app on iPhone, iPad or Mac
Open the Account tab and press Delete your account, which opens your account’s page at Deleting your account. Logged in, press Delete account… and then Press again to delete for ever.
In the app on Android
Open the menu, press Log in, and in the account box press Delete account… and then Press again to delete for ever. The account page, in the menu, has the same button under Deleting your account.
On the web
Open the account page, log in, and press Delete account… under Deleting your account, then Press again to delete for ever. Or press Log in on any page and find the button at the foot of the account box.
For safety, an account that has been logged in for a long while is asked to sign in again before it is deleted: with Google or Apple that is the same sheet as before, with an email address and password it is the Log in box, and the deletion follows at once.
By email
Cannot log in, or would rather not do it yourself? Write to fkarim@visualneuroscience.ai from the address on the account, with the subject Delete my account. The account is deleted by hand within 30 days, with the same result, and the reply says when it is done.
What goes, and what does not
- Deleted at once: the sign-in itself, the profile (name, email address, username and university), every saved model and all practice progress. The username is released for anyone to take.
- Not part of the account: the newsletter, if you joined it, is a separate list at Mailchimp; leave it from the link at the foot of any of its emails. The usage counts are kept under a random identifier that is never tied to an account and identify no one, as the privacy policy says.
- Kept on your device only: the light-or-dark choice and the offline copy of the pages, which clear with the app or the browser’s site data.
